Privacy Policy
This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. Short version: if you join the waitlist, we collect your email and use it to tell you about Grillkeeper. Nothing more.
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how IT MATTERS GROUP LTD. ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Grillkeeper website at grillkeeper.ca (the "Site") and the Grillkeeper mobile application (the "App," and together with the Site, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Information We Collect
Waitlist email address (Site)
When you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you submit. This is the only personal information we collect through the Site, and we collect it only when you choose to provide it. We use Formspree, a third-party form service, to receive, deliver, and store waitlist submissions on our behalf. Formspree may store this data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. See "International Transfers" below and Formspree's privacy policy at formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy.
App content (App)
Any cook details you enter in the App are stored locally on your device only. We do not access, collect, or store this content.
Purchase data (App)
Purchases are processed and verified by the Apple App Store. We do not collect or store any payment or billing information. Apple may provide us with anonymized, aggregate sales information, such as total purchase counts, that does not identify you. See Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
Crash and diagnostic data (App)
Apple may collect anonymous crash reports and diagnostics based on your device settings. This data is collected and processed by Apple, not by us.
No tracking or advertising
We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We do not use advertising identifiers or third-party advertising SDKs. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your waitlist email address to send you messages about Grillkeeper, including launch news, early access, and related updates, in accordance with Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Purchases are processed and verified by Apple. We do not use your information for any other purpose without your consent.
4. Consent and Unsubscribing
By submitting your email to the waitlist, you consent to receive electronic messages from us about Grillkeeper. Every message includes an unsubscribe link. You may withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing or by contacting us at grillkeeper@itmattershq.com, and we will remove you from the waitlist.
5. Data Storage, Retention, and Security
Waitlist emails are stored by Formspree on our behalf and retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion, or until we no longer need them for the waitlist. App content is stored locally on your device and is not retained by us. We take reasonable measures to protect the information within our control, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
Data Breach Notification
In the event of a breach of security safeguards involving personal information that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and any other applicable law. If a breach occurs at a third-party service provider, we will work with that provider to assess the impact and fulfill our notification obligations.
6. International Transfers
Our service provider Formspree may store and process information on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. Where personal information is transferred outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions, including lawful access by their courts and government authorities. By using the Services, you consent to this transfer and processing.
7. Payments
All payment processing for the App is handled by the Apple App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment or billing information. For more information, see Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:
- Access: request access to the personal information we hold about you. To date, that is limited to your waitlist email, if you have joined.
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate personal information.
- Deletion and withdrawal of consent: unsubscribe from the waitlist or ask us to delete your email from it at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at grillkeeper@itmattershq.com. We will respond within 30 days in accordance with applicable privacy legislation.
9. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Users under the age of majority in their jurisdiction (19 in British Columbia) should obtain parental or guardian consent before joining the waitlist or using the Services. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us their email address, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on the Site and will take effect upon posting. For material changes, such as the introduction of new data collection practices, we will provide reasonable notice. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
11. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the applicable federal laws of Canada, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA), and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). It is intended to comply with the requirements of those laws. Any disputes arising in connection with this Privacy Policy will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in British Columbia, Canada.
